Lunch at OLOLO

Hi loves,

Have you ever come across a place and gotten that whoa feeling?! Yup, that’s exactly what happened to me when I walked into this tranquil gem! I know that Nairobi is notorious for beautiful locations but Ololo is truly a hidden gem.

I honestly wouldn’t have come across it if it wasn’t for my sister and her fiancé who were out scouting for a wedding venue. Talk about a beautiful coincidence 😉☺️

Sundays being my petit plaisir days called for a chilled out lunch and some good vibes and Ololo certainly delivered to the T.

The lodge is set on twenty acres of beautifully established old gardens on the southern edge of Nairobi National Park, home to much of Kenya’s abundant wildlife.

the well kept gardens

The Kitchen at Ololo’ restaurant overlooks the park and we got to see Ostriches, Zebras and some Antelopes grazing. They offer delicious daily breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Lunch is available for day and park visitors. (Bookings are required). Lunch is a three course menu so pack an appetite. 💃🏽

They were serving chicken liver pudding for starters. I’m not particularly crazy about liver so I requested for something else which they graciously obliged to. I had tomato soup & bread rolls.

I went with chicken with jam & bacon topping and potato wedges on the side for my main.It also came with a side of freshly made garden salad. All this washed down with some refreshing cabernet Sauvignon. We were so full afterwards that we skipped dessert which was lemon cupcakes.

Things to do

Ololo is a very quiet and serene place, ideal for people who are looking to get away from the hustle & bustle of the city. You can start your day off with a drive at the Nairobi National Park then head to Ololo’s for refreshments and/or spend the night as they do offer accommodation. Alternatively you can head there for evening tea as you watch the wildlife from the beautiful deck.

How to get there.

Once your reservation has been confirmed, they will email you directions to the lodge. Also, you need a 4 by 4 vehicle because the terrain is very rough and muddy especially during the rainy season.

I hope that you will add lunch at Ololo to your bucket list! 😄🎉

Love & love 💞
